Loving your work

Since I vowed that this will be a blog for all the things I love...here's another aspect of my life I keep on blaming ...keep on crying about...stressing me out...and still I know I love...my Work. Having your own business is not a walk in the park. Its not going to make you an instant zillionnaire ...oftentimes you question if it ever will ...but when I said I was going to be a businesswoman when I was around 7 years old...God heard my wish. And somehow, I know that this is the reason why I love my work now. God meant it for me. It is still a work in progress. But I have gained the trust of people...and that must mean something at the end of the day. My work deserves to be in this blog and may this blog remind me of this day I discerned 'tis true : )

I LOVE MY MOMMY SO MUCH

The very first entry I made in this blog was about my mommy.  It best fits the objective of this blog and that is to write only about anyone or anything I love.  That entry described my relief that my mommy just celebrated her 60th birthday.  And now...barely 3 years after...she was taken away from us and has joined God in heaven.  In peace and with my Daddy at last, I pray only for her happiness. But let me write about how I love her still, how I love to recall my days taking care of her.  No...she was taking care of me.  Oh...Diego's beside me now and I struggle to keep myself from crying again.  One day at a time...my love for mommy will grow still.

White wine

I'm learning to love white wines as well. Our friend asked us to buy this bottle and I agree that this was a good choice. Although a bit pricey, pinot grigio proved to be a good match to our favorite red, temparanillo (La planta). It was actually better with cheese and equally smooth. I'll still be sticking to my red wine but at least the next time I'm served white wine, I won't be pessimistic about it anymore. I've even observed that more avid wine drinkers nowadays prefer white wine. I'm still not sure why or if it shows more sophistication. But when it comes to drinking wine, what's always important for me is that I truly love the experience and not because I'm being sociable. By the way, I got the bottle at my favorite Wine depot.

Tai Chi

I remember my trip in Macau several years ago and how I observed old people filling the parks in the morning doing martial arts.  Well, not that I feel as old, but I find myself loving the same exercise.  Its more of a breathing exercise and its not as easy as it looks.  Now I understand why those old people look stronger than the lolos and lolas here at home.  Even as young I am now, doing Tai Chi exercises make me feel so much better. I started doing Tai Chi in Fitness First after reading ChiRunning. Although its the first class on a Saturday morning (very fit for the old ones really), I now make it a point to drag myself out of bed.  Funny, our trainer is the youngest one in class, but the rest is older than me.  Makes me feel younger as well.  So one of my "Love" now is this new exercise.  Hope others discover it as well.  I've tried Pilates, Yoga and all are really great forms but I think the centuries old Tai Chi brings a sense of E...

Falling in Love with Spinning Class again

I suppose I should be writing how I was starting to fall in love with running which was true 2 months ago. But throughout that period, I never thought of writing so I guess I missed the chance to express that feeling through this blog. Well, I started my spinning class this year again as a workout for my Marathon targets this year. Now that I've been missing my chances to join marathons, I'm just relieved I still get that adrenaline rush in my new spinning class. My spinning classes now are rescuing me from the temptation of just lazing around and worse, gaining more pounds. I guess it also brings back memories of the years before I got married when I lost a lot of weight from it. It was also my chance to immerse myself and just forget all my worries as I am doing now.

Wine Lover

A new passion for me now is wine...I'm still learning and I do admit that I am still confused with the terms of wine specialists...the nose, bite, flavor etc. Some are unbelievably expensive while on the other hand some are just too cheap for comfort. This is why I guess I wanted to learn how to appreciate and differentiate all these bottles. The same way I started learning to cook and appreciate each dish, wine tasting has enlightened me to appreciate each bottle. The beauty of wine I suppose is that from a simple fruit, we transform it into something more precious. Just like chefs who use different techniques and ingredients to make the best dish, wine makers do the same thing for their grapes. And this has been a tradition for many families and each grape represent as well the history of the family who makes the wine. Well I'm learning through self-study...reading online articles, joining wine conferences and of course by having a glass of wine more often in the com...

The story of my namesake

Savitri's Love - From The Maha-Bharata ( Originally Published 1939 ) Now, there was a king in India, whose name was Aswapati (As-wa-pah-tee), and his people loved him, for he gave help to all in need, and he served the shining gods in prayer and sacrifice. But he had no son or daughter in whom his name and line could live on, when the time came for him to die, and his heart was grieved, and he fasted oft, and said hymns to the shining gods, and burned offerings on their holy altar, and hoped they would grant him the gift he asked. When sixteen years had thus passed, his prayer was heard. In the red fire of the altar he beheld a Iady of fair Iook and ways, and she said to him: "Thy faith hath pleased me, 0 Raja, and if thou wilt say thy desire, it shall be given thee." "Goddess," replied the king, "my wish is to have a child to live after me." "The Lord of heaven," she said, "will grant thee what thou hast prayed." She was gone and t...
